The new show from Sbergia Veronica & The Red Wine Serenades is a concert that is not just a concert, but a journey through the plantations of the southern United States, the brothels of New Orleans, the prohibitionism with all its contradictions, the barrelhouses from the Mississippi’s Delta and the prisons of Louisiana, a path that runs along the thread of the voices of the great singers of the 20s and recordings of forgotten bluesman, until the urban blues of the Great Depression of '29. A sort of bandwagon circus where the instruments of the American musical tradition (resonator guitars and acoustic guitars, ukulele, banjo, washboard, kazoo), lead to the surprising music of the '20s and '30s.
Among ragtime, folk, pre-war blues, early jazz and spirituals it is possible to listen to the voice and the sound of the poorest of the American population and maybe the most authentic and evocative.
Veronica & The Red Wine Serenades performed in France, Switzerland, Hungary, Spain, England, Italy and the Caribbean.
