MATHIEU FROMONT | vocals, guitar & harmonica

A charismatic singer with a warm and powerful voice, a guitarist instinctive, fierce and hypnotic, a harmonica player who can be captivated by its simplicity: Boogie Matt is one of those rare blues artists that stands out both for the accuracy of his interpretation, both for his innate sense of improvisation. Although born in Paris, Matt is able to captivate his audience to believe they are listening to an authentic blues legend of the american deep south. His lyrics come from the roots African-American cultural lexicon. Matt writes tasty blues songs, often spontaneously like the bluesmen of the past could do. He sometimes uses the guitar or the harmonica like a horn section, other times keeps the rhythm with his feet. Matt does not just play the blues, it preaches to the soul and embodies with such conviction and authenticity. Recent Matt’s boogie compositions are real explosives, intentionally primitive, influenced by the sounds of extreme electric boogie-blues of the '60s. Occasionally Matt diversifies its repertoire with unplugged performances, in the style of Mississippi Delta blues.
