The Marques Brothers are truly unique, as they present authentic performances of two exciting and popular musical styles. Their music in based on the deep Chicago Blues of the 1950s and pays homage to the masters, in particular to Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, but just as heir audience might think they are being lulled into nostalgia for the roots of rock, the band will switch to Roots Reggae, as exemplified by Toots and the Maytalls, instantly carrying their listeners to other places. The key to this great combination is the charismatic Jeremiah Marques, a master of both musical styles and a performer who has to be seen live to appreciate his electrifying talent. Jeremiah is accompanied by two musicians who rank among the best of European Blues talent: Pete Nash on piano and slide guitar, and Lewis Fielding on guitar.
