mainstream piano   Mario Rusca, piano   Nato a Torino, Mario Rusca vive a Milano, dove divide la sua attività tra concerti jazz e insegnamento alla « Scuola Professionale di Musica Moderna » di Lugano.  Ha collaborato con tantissimi "grandi" del jazz che hanno visitato l'Italia, tra i quali possiamo nominare Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker, Stan Getz, Lou Donaldson e Lee Konitz.  Mario è anche arrangiatore e nel 1997 la sua big band ha ospitato Jerry Bergonzi, Hal Crook e tanti altri.  Nel 1999 si è esibito in Piazza della Riforma in veste di pianista solista con l'Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana in occasione della presentazione durante Estival Jazz delle suite scritte da Duke Ellington. Le sue ultime incisioni sono state con Tony Scott, Enrico Rava e Lee Konitz.  Blues to Bop è  onorato di poter presentare questo raffinatissimo artista, che allargherà notevolmente le sfumature percepite da un gruppo di tastieristi, sebbene molto diversi uno dall'altro.     Born in Turin, Mario Rusca has lived in Milan for many years where his professional work is split between jazz concerts and his teaching at the “Scuola Professionale di Musica Moderna” here in Lugano.  Mario has been first choice at the piano for many of the big name jazzmen who have visited Italy over the years, including Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker, Stan Getz, Lou Donaldson and Lee Konitz. He is also an arranger and in 1997 a big band including Jerry Bergonzi, Hal Crook and many other American stars performed his works.  He appeared in Piazza Riforma in 1999 as the solo pianist fronting the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana when they performed Suites by Duke Ellington during Estival.  Mario Rusca’s latest recordings are with Tony Scott, Enrico Rava and Lee Konitz.  Blues to Bop is proud to present such a prestigious soloist who will bring the boundaries of our music up to Bop and perhaps stretch them even farther.
