Duncan, McKenzie, vocal, guitars, percussion and harmonica     Quest'anno Duncan McKenzie ritorna in veste di solista e quindi saranno più evidenti sia la varietà di stili che utilizza sia l’espressività della sua voce e la sorprendente energia delle sue performances.  Le sue radici musicali ci riportano alla Scozia, dove è nata la sua passione per la musica celtica tradizionale.  In questa terra Duncan è cresciuto come artista, con una visione della musica e della vita come un viaggio continuo che porta a nuove scoperte che servono ad arricchire conoscenze già acquisite. Il suo recente CD intitolato “New Life” ha incontrato un notevole successo nell'ambito della musica “roots-based” e presenta brani dal ragtime al jazz, da temi mistici ispirati ad un viaggio nel circolo polare artico alle bellissime ballate.  Il nostro programma presenta Duncan in diversi momenti del festival, ma sarà da vedere anche con altri dei nostri ospiti in qualità di instancabile improvvisatore.    Duncan McKenzie returns to Blues to Bop as a solo artist so his talents will be on more open display.  His recently published Cd “New Life” is creating considerable excitement in “roots-based music” circles and serves as a showcase of his wide range.  Duncan’s roots are to be found in the traditional Celtic music of Scotland but his curiosity and technical skills have taken him far and wide in a continuing search for music that serves to enrich what has already been acquired.  Be it ragtime, jazz, mystical themes from the Norwegian fjords or romantic ballads, Duncan has somehow brings them together with a creative verve that mirrors the energy that surges through his concerts.
