I venti elementi della Desamper Big Band si riunirono a Giubiasco per la prima volta nell'aprile 2000, sotto la direzione di  Marco Santilli. Il complesso cerca di ottenere la sonorità tipica della Big Band con una corretta interpretazione del ritmo e del fraseggio swing. Il loro repertorio comprende, oltre ai classici dello swing, anche brani di genere funky, latin-jazz, blues e i suoi membri lavorano costantemente per aggiungerne di nuovi, inclusi dei pezzi storici delle big band alla Glenn Miller, come pure canzoni di Gloria Estefan e dei Blues Brothers. Siamo certi che a Blues to Bop molti nuovi spettatori saranno felicemente sorpresi di scoprire che il Canton Ticino possiede una formazione del genere. 

The members if the Desamper Big Band met for the first time in April 2000 under the direction of Marco Santilli.  The formation has worked constantly to achieve the authentic sound and rhythms of the big swing band but at the same time widening their musical horizons to include funky, latin-jazz and blues as well as theme from the pop worlds of Gloria Estefand and the Blues Brothers.  Their concert at Blues to Bop will bring them many new fans, listeners who will be surprised that such an impressive ensemble exists in Ticino.
