La
Blue Feeling Orchestra è una vera “big band”, formata dal leader
Vittorio Castelli per proporre gli arrangiamenti degli anni ‘20 e
‘30. Noto storico e ricercatore, Castelli descrive questa sua
formazione come un “progetto da sogno” e, proprio nell’anno
dell’anniversario della nascita di Louis Armstrong, il loro primo
concerto di venerdì sarà dedicato alle big band con cui Louis si è
esibito. Il noto trombettista Fabrizio Cattaneo sarà il solista sul
palco. Sabato invece il pubblico potrà ascoltare la formazione di ben
dieci elementi impegnati con il repertorio della leggendaria orchestra
cui Duke Ellington si affiancò al Cotton Club di New York.
E’ la prima volta che Blues to Bop ospita una band
‘formale’ di queste dimensioni.
The
Blue Feeling Orchestra is a real big band that has been put together
by leader Vittorio Castelli to celebrate the early Louis Armstrong big
bands and the legendary orchestra that Duke Ellington led at the
Cotton Club. On Friday
evening ‘Satchmo’ will be celebrated during the month that marks
the anniversary of his birth and the featured soloist will be Fabrizio
Cattaneo. The concert on
Saturday evening will bring back to life the exuberant atmosphere of
the Cotton Club that fascinated a whole generation of white patrons in
search of the exotic in Black Harlem.
