The Reverend K.M. was born in Clarksville,Texas in 1956 where he grew up deep in the country, in the northeast. His early musical influences included Memphis/Stax recording artists such as Albert King, Wilson Pickett, Slim Harpo and Sam and Dave who he heard late at night on the WLAC radio station inNashville, Tennessee. At the age of 7 he had a guitar lesson from a bluesman travelling through the area who he now believes to have been the legendary Elmore James. He was given his first guitar the following year but did not make much progress. After high school he joined the U. S. Navy, enlisting in the submarine service. The biggest change in his life came in 1980 when he was “re-born” and found himself able to play both the guitar and the harmonica, as well as sing and compose blues and spirituals. He located to Cleveland, Ohio after leaving the U. S. Navy in 1981 where he performed part time with local gospel groups and began his solo career performing both gospel and blues. He was ordained a Minister in the Holiness Church in 1995. Formed a Delta blues band, K. M. Williams and the Blues Train, in 1997. In Lugano for the first time with his wife Diana, the Reverend Williams is sure to be a big hit thanks to the intense emotional sincerity he brings to his “Gospel Blues”.
