The music of Wayne Baker Brooks is an intense misture of various elements including Texas Blues and Southside Chicago Blues, fuelled by the energy of a Led Zeppelin fan. Born into a family that has made important contributions to the international blues scene for more than fifty years (his father is blues legend Lonnie Brooks and his brother Ronnie has also appeared at Blues to Bop), Wayne continues the family tradition that takes the blues into new directions without losing its heritage which came from the rural south, just like Wayne’s father Lonnie. In 1999, Wayne played for the First Lady of America, Hilary Clinton, who told him that her husband would be very unhappy to have missed his performance. This occasion, plus an appearance in the film “Blues Brothers 2000″ helped to make him known outside the blues world. Obviously, the blues audience know him best and flock to his concerts to enjoy his dazzling talent and stagecraft.
