JAZZ BLUES, RHYTHM ’N BLUES

The young Parisian pianist Julien Brunetaud made a solo appearance at last year’s Blues to Bop when his New Orleans inspired playing and singing brought him rapturous applause. However, this is only part of Brunetaud’s music so this year he is back both as a solo player and with his award winning jazz trio. He will also appear with an artist he helped bring to the festival: Joe Louis Walker. They played together at this year’s Moustique Blues Festival and the veteran bluesman was so impressed with his young colleague that he accepted our offer to come at to play at Blues to Bop with a group created for the occasion featuring Julien.
So this year there will be ample opportunities to appreciate the talents of this rising young star. He is sure to come up to expectations.
