The Cultural Heritage Choir was founded in the 90’s when noted vocalist, percussionist, producer and cultural historian Linda Tillery decided to embrace a broad musical repertoire that went beyond her Bay Area experience and her family’s Texan traditions, by creating links to the most diverse resources of African American roots music. The Cultural Heritage Choir shares with us contemporary interpretations of what Tillery has defined as “Survival Music”, with all its passion, humour and sadness. This wonderful group of musicians is a vivid testimony to the way in which, while times change and technological progress continues to accelerate, man’s emotional needs remain the same.
