Ian Siegal is universally considered the best British Blues artist performing today.

He dropped out of art school in the late eighties to go busking in Germany. After drifting up and down the country he ended up in London where he met a number of musicians active on the local scene, in particular Dana Gillespie who helped kick start his career: it was thanks to Dana that Ian first appeared at Blues to Bop in 2000, his first festival appearance.

Since then Ian has forged an incredibly fruitful career that includes two successive European tours with Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings, UK tours in duo with Big Bill Morganfield (another of the many artists who appeared for the first time in Europe at Blues to Bop), and visits to Holland, Belgium, Austria, Hungry and Italy. He has also visited Switzerland playing concerts at the Murrayfield Pub in Chiasso. In 2006 he received the ultimate accolade when he was invited to tour in the USA.

His 2007 CD, “Swagger” was welcomed ad “No less than a testament to the talents of one of the most inventive, gifted and engaging blues performers on the planet today.”

Blues to Bop is honoured that this wonderful artist still rates Blues to Bop as “one of the best festivals ever”.
