BOBBY RADCLIFF is well-known and revered by both jazz fans and blues enthusiasts who have found in his edgy energy and unmistakable voice that their favorite music is alive and well.

It was the time he spent in the sixties with “Magic Sam” Maghett that bound him forever to the raucous mixture of deep blues and flashy funk that was the sound of Chicago’s West Side. Like so many Americans who have made their name in the arts, Bobby ran away  from a suburban childhood in Chevy Chase, Maryland, at seventeen and went to Chicago to look for the bluesman who was to change his life.  Magic Sam was in Cook County Hospital recovering from a minor stroke and was so surprised at a young kid coming to just to meet him, That he took Bobby under his wing and introduced him to the Chicago blues scene at the peak of the blues renaissance.

Bobby went on to record a number of superb albums on the New Orleans based Black Top Label, which collapsed after the death of its founder in 2002. The web revolution is proving a great help and his new release on Rollo Records, “Natural Ball” showcases an artist at the top of his game.

For this year’s edition Bobby returns for the first time since 1990 when he was on tour with the great Earl King.  Eighteen years later, guitar fans are in for a special treat thanks to this dynamic artist, appearing at Blues to Bop with this regular trio.
